Gennady Golovkin's Father buried in Karaganda

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Visitation took place today at Vvedensky Cathedral. Gennady Ivanovich Golovkin, died at the age of 69 on Tuesday after having a heart attack.

More than five hundred people came to the funeral to accompany the deceased on his last journey, according to «Noviy Vestnik» newspaper.

Among those who came were the officials, colleagues and friends of Golovkin Sr. The farewell ceremoony was also attended by the representatives of "Shakhter" FC and other sports associations of Karaganda city.

Gennady Golovkin Sr. passed away on Tuesday, February 18 after aving a heart attack. Boxer's father died at the age of 69. He was a veteran of coal industry and has been awarded the title «Honored worker of the coal industry».
