Gennady Golovkin to discuss future of boxing in Thailand

President of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gennady Golovkin will take part in the first working meeting of Asian member countries of the World Boxing Federation, slated to be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, Kazinform News Agency cites Olympic.kz.

The primary focus of the meeting is the establishment of a new Asian Boxing Confederation.

Earlier, World Boxing officially announced the creation of an organization designed to oversee the development and promotion of boxing in Asia.

Chair of the World Boxing Olympic Commission Gennady Golovkin will engage in a bilateral meeting with the Head of the Boxing Federation and NOC of Thailand, Pichai Chunhavajira.

In addition, Gennady Golovkin will visit the finals of the ASBC Asian Elite Men and Women Boxing Championships in Chiang Mai on December 10-11.
