«Geotechnology 2013: challenges and innovative development of mining industry» Conference kicks off in Almaty

ALMATY. September 9. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan needs new innovative ways for extraction and processing of commercial minerals with implementation of advanced technologies and with due regard to ecological strand and minimal losses.

This has been discussed today in Almaty at the 6th International Scientific Conference called "Geotechnology 2013: challenges and innovative development of mining industry" by the leaders of the largest mining companies, leading academics and practitioners from Kazakhstan and abroad. The Minister of Environmental Protection Nurlan Kapparov also attended the event.

The conference was organized by "Kazakhmys" with the support of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science, Kazakhstan Institute of Industry, the Association of Mining and metallurgical enterprises, the National Center on complex processing of mineral raw materials and Mining Institute after D.A. Kunaev.

The meeting participants will exchange views and experiences, consider options for making geological, geotechnical issues, environmental aspects, mine aerodynamics and mining safety.
