German Chancellor Olaf Scholz speaks about his state visit to Kazakhstan
Germany seeks to promote bilateral economic relations with Kazakhstan, Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz said during his meeting with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at Akorda, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
Last year, our relations developed well, and we look forward to a large number of economic contacts. I’m accompanied by a large delegation, representatives of the economy. This is our goal, which is to improve conditions for our economic relations to make direct investments in your country, opportunities for trade exchange and, of course, we want to foster economic cooperation in all other fields, said Olaf Scholz.
According to the German Chancellor, the two countries enjoy active cooperation in the energy field.
We’re very pleased that cooperation is being developed in the energy field. Oil is being supplied. We’re glad that our countries enjoy such a reliable, clear, precise and consistent cooperation. This is a good message for many. For us, it’s crucial to maintain peaceful trade in the world, to make sure protectionist intentions end up unsuccessful. In this vein, I’m glad to our meeting and the upcoming meeting with the representatives, the Presidents of all Central Asian states here. It has already become a good tradition, added the German Chancellor.
Earlier it was reported that President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev greeted Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz at the presidential palace Akorda.
It is expected that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is to take part in the second Summit “Central Asia + Germany,” set to discuss strategic cooperation and partnership in a wide range of areas, including trade and economic interaction and realization of joint investment projects.
