German citizen asking for political asylum in Kazakhstan could be imprisoned

KAZINFORM - The official of specialized administrative court of Kostanay, Zhaukazyn Mukhtar told the "Kazinform" correspondent that a German citizen who asked for political asylum in Kazakhstan was attracted to administrative responsibility in the form of arrest for 1 day by a specialized administrative court of Kostanay.

"He was brought to administrative responsibility for the fact that he broke the rules of stay of foreigners in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Because of this, he was arrested for one day. Further on the migration police will deal with this case", explained the official. According to her, the foreigner did not extend the temporary registration and leave Kazakhstan in due time since November 8, 2011. Upon arrival in Kazakhstan, the German citizen wrote application to the local branch of the Department of Home Affairs for citizenship and asylum. The offender showed this document in the court where he also asked to give him a work permit. "According to the Presidential Decree of October 10, 2006, the person on the territory of Kazakhstan applying for asylum appeals in the name of the Head of State to the Committee for Migration, Labor and Social Protection of the population or its subdivisions. In his ruling, the judge rejected the offender's arguments that he requested political asylum," said the representative of the court. Zh.Muhtar gave some information about the foreigner. "He was born in 1970. Before it, he had been a national of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Later he moved to Germany with his family, and then he came back to Kazakhstan alone. His family is in Germany. At the moment the German lives with his parents in Kostanay. He does not work," she added. According to her, the court's decision has not yet come into force. The German citizen can appeal within 10 days. "The decision will come into force to March 20", came to the conclusion the representative of the regional court.
