German Embassy donates A.Kunanbayev and M.Auezov's books published in German to Semey
Foundation of the Scientific Library in the University named after Abai Kunanbayev located in the city of Semey has received extraordinary works of A. Kunanbayev and M.Auezov translated into German. Priceless gifts were handed over to the mayor of the city of Semey Aybek Karimov by the first secretary of the German Embassy in Kazakhstan, head of Culture and Press Department, John Kramer, according to the press office of the city administration. "Book of words" and "Abai's Way" were published in the German language in 2010. It was a joint project of Germany and Kazakhstan called "The Kazakh library". However, this edition is considered a rarity. First translations of Abai poems into German were made in 50s of the last century.
