Germany keen to create geological cluster in Kazakhstan

BERLIN. KAZINFORM - Deputy Premier - Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan Mr. Asset Issekeshev met with Prof. Dr. Hans-Joachim Kümpel, the head of the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources, in Berlin.

Deeper bilateral and mutually profitable cooperation with the purpose of replacement of Kazakhstani minefields in line with international standards was discussed at the meeting. Dr. Kümpel assured that German side was ready to help along in that sphere and play an active role in the creation of geological cluster in Kazakhstan. The Head of the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources also said it had studied minefields in Kazakhstan that were of particular interest for Germany. He stressed that results of the study presented together with the Kazakh diplomatic mission in Germany would be an extra incentive for expansion of investment activities of German mining and processing companies in Kazakhstan.
