'Getting Ready for School' act helped over 20, 000 kids

ATY. August 26. KAZINFORM /Aigul Turysbekova/ Over 20 thousand children received school supplies amounted to KZT 60 mln within the "Getting Ready for School" national campaign; Minister of Education and Science Zhanseit Tuimebayev has said today at the session in Almaty.

Pointing out success of the national education the Minister specified a number of existing issues as well. One of them is insufficient development of the educational infrastructure and lack of preschool institutions. Over 900 thousand children, 1-6 years aged are not covered with preschool education.

"A network of private nursery schools, family nursery schools as well as family consultation centers are expected to be developed at the expense of tax reliefs", - the Head of the Ministry noted.

"We are worried by the fact that the number of children from difficult families who do not attend school is increasing for the last time. Over 19 thousand kids under 16 are registered in the country. The state will allocate funds for additional education of children. This issue should be addressed jointly with public and cultural organizations as well as with sport communities", - Zh. Tuimebayev said.

Almaty school teachers were suggested to hold one more session to address the issues of education. The Minister presented letters of gratitude, certificates of merit of the Education Ministry and etc. He noted that the number of school teachers who advance their skills is increasing for the last time.
