In February, Paris will host the AI Action Summit, bringing together governments, tech companies, scientists, and experts to explore frameworks for developing "public-interest" AI.

Canada's G7 presidency, starting in January, is expected to prioritize a unified approach to emerging technologies, potentially accelerating G7 and OECD efforts to ensure safe, secure, and trustworthy AI.

Meanwhile, Rwanda will host a summit in April on Africa’s role in the global AI landscape.

In August, the European Union's groundbreaking "AI Act" will introduce new rules on general-purpose AI systems. As the world’s first comprehensive AI law, this regulation is anticipated to set global standards for responsible AI use, influencing tech companies worldwide and serving as a foundation for a globally recognized "code of practice" for the AI industry.

Moreover, the United Nations' Global Digital Compact and a proposed blueprint for AI governance could provide an opportunity for emerging powers to rewrite the rules and gain more influence.
