GLONASS providing global coverage
MOSCOW. December 8. KAZINFORM The number of units in Russia's global navigation system has been brought to 24, so GLONASS now ensures a continuous navigation signal worldwide, spokesman for the Russian Space Systems company /RKS/ Alexander Zubakhin told Itar-Tass on Thursday.
According to Itar-Tass, "Today, the first of the three spacecraft launched on November 4, 2011, went on line; the GLONASS cluster therefore has 24 units in dedicated use, which ensures a continuous navigation signal globally," Zubakhin said.
