Gonzalo Higuaín set to seal £23m transfer to Arsenal from Real Madrid

MADRID. July 5. KAZINFORM Arsenal are close to sealing a £23m deal for Gonzalo Higuaín after the Real Madrid striker's father revealed that negotiations are "very advanced".

The Argentine has been in talks with the north London club since being told he can leave the Bernabéu this summer.

Jorge Higuaín, who also acts as one of his son's representatives, told Fox Sports Argentina: "We have been given permission by Real Madrid to negotiate with Arsenal. With luck I will see my son in the Premier League soon."

Higuaín is expected to fly to London this week to undergo a medical, Kazinform cites the Guardian.

"There isn't anything signed yet, but the negotiations are very advanced," Higuaín senior added. "We haven't spoken about the contract yet. Arsenal have made a great offer, in the same way as Juventus."
