Governor of Atyrau region reported on socio-economic development

ATYRAU. February 13. KAZINFORM. /Andrey Sokolov/ An enlarged session of the regional maslikhat took place in Atyrau. Akim (Governor) Bergey Ryskaliyev reported on socio-economic development of Atyrau oblast in 2008 and tasks for 2009.

Activity of the local authorities was called successful. The region maintained its investment potential. The volume of investments has made up KZT 834 billion over 2008 that is by 3.3% more than in 2007. The industrial output exceeded the level of 2007 by KZT 733 billion and made up KZT 2.149 trillion. The Governor also noted achievements in the social and construction spheres. Over 500 thousand square meters of housing, 4 schools, 4 health facilities and several kindergartens were commissioned in 2008. The gasification of two districts, construction of roads, bridges across the Ural River is continued and will be finished in 2009.
