Elections of akims started in 3 cities and 42 districts of Kazakhstan

The pilot elections of akims (governors) of districts and cities of regional significance started in Kazakhstan, Kazinform Agency reports.

Maslikhats of 17 regions approved the list of 42 districts and three cities to hold the first-ever elections of local governors and the date of elections which falls on the first Sunday of November.

The elections results will be announced by the territorial election commission of the district (city) within three days.

Any Kazakh citizen over the age of 25 years old can run for local governor.
