Great shrines of Orthodoxy to be delivered to Ascension Cathedral of Almaty

ALMATY. KAZINFORM - Ascension Cathedral Almaty will be delivered great shrines including part of the pin from the crown of thorns of the Jesus Christ, which is stored in Notre-Dame-de-Paris, and a part of the tunic of the Lord God that is stored in the French town of Argenteuil, said head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan Metropolitan of Astana and Kazakhstan Alexander, during a press conference in Almaty.

According to the metropolitan, April 9 the current year these shrines will be performed at the Ascension Cathedral. April 11-12 nighttime all churches of the country will host an Easter service. Metropolitan Alexander will commit Easter procession, a festive Matins and Liturgy at Ascension Cathedral of Almaty city. "Holy Easter is the main event for all Orthodox Christians. We celebrate Christ's victory over death. Easter encourages each of us to think about those who are in need of support - war veterans, refugees, victims of hostilities, orphans and physically infirm people," he said. Special feature of the Eater is the delivery of the Holy Fire of the Tomb of the Lord in Jerusalem to Kazakhstan. Evening of April 12 the Holy Fire will be brought into the Ascension Cathedral in Almaty. In conclusion metropolitan Alexander reminded that this summer a part of garments of Jesus Christ will be delivered to our country.
