Great Silk Road museum opens in Ust-Kamenogorsk

Under the leadership of the Honorary Worker of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nikolai Zaitsev there was recreated the trade route that connected East and West. Originally it was the first transcontinental highway 7,000 kilometers long. The system of ancient caravan routes served for silk export from China.
In Ust -Kamenogorsk museum-reserve complex built the Indian Raja Palace, a medieval palace of the Emir and the ancient sailing ship named "Caravel". The construction of the Chinese emperor's palace and the palace of the Kazakh Khan is being completed.
"The ethnographic and natural landscape museum-reserve's square has extended from 30 to 120 hectares within 4 years. There will be also installed waterfalls the construction of which should be completed by the end of September. Besides, apart from the machine that cleans the bottom of lakes we are planning to build our own mini-hydro to regulate the water level in the pits", said the mayor B.Saparbayev.
NOTE: The left bank complex includes exhibition halls, open-air museums, ethno-village, botanical garden, zoo, several lakes, the city of artisans and beach areas, outdoor venues etc..
