Green zone around Astana city is its new brand: Nazarbayev

ASTANA. June 27. KAZINFORM Today, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has made a flight over the territory of 'green belt' around Astana city.

The Head of State chaired a traditional visiting meeting on the development of the green zone around the capital of Kazakhstan afterwards.

"Forests around Astana have become the new brand of our capital. We have built a wonderful city that makes every Kazakhstani proud. It astonishes our guests from neighboring countries and beyond. The 'green belt' around Astana has been developed on my instruction. Despite doubts and scepticism, 65 thousand ha of forest now encompasses Astana, including 14 thousand ha in the city," said President Nazarbayev.
