Gumilyov ENU to join Kazakhstan-Belarus scientific-educational consortium

ASTANA. January 17. KAZINFORM /Zhanna Korkitova/ The Eurasian National Gumilyov University will join a Scientific-Educational Consortium between the universities and research institutes of Kazakhstan and Belarus.

This was announced at a sitting of the heads of the higher education institutions and scientific organizations of Belarus and Kazakhstan held at the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) in Minsk.

The goal of the meeting was signing an Agreement on establishment of a Scientific-Educational Consortium between the higher education institutions and research institutes of Belarus and Kazakhstan, a press release of the Gumilyov ENU reads.

13 Kazakh universities including the Gumilyov ENU are intending to join the Consortium. Belarus will be represented by 13 universities and 3 research institutes.

Signing of the Agreement on Consortium by the coordinators - Rector of the ENU Bakytzhan Abdraim and Rector of the BNTU Boris Khroustalev - is scheduled for March 2011 within the official visit of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to Kazakhstan.
