ASTANA. November 23. KAZINFORM /Gulnara Zhandagulova/ The official delegation of the U.S.A. to the OSCE Summit in Astana including 200 representatives will be headed by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. U.S. Ambassador to Kazakhstan Richard Hoagland made it public at a press conference on Tuesday in Astana.
The delegation consists of the U.S. Government's officials and representatives, including deputy secretaries of state, Congress members, experts and members of the state bodies.
According to the Ambassador, nonparticipation of USA President Barack Obama in the Summit should not be recognized as a refusal. "It is conditioned by tight work schedule", R. Hoagland said.
"I would like to assure you that President B.Obama and President N.Nazarbayev maintain close ties. Recently, the two Presidents held talks within the NATO Summit in Lisbon. They also plan to hold a telephone conversation soon", the Ambassador explained.
