Hague holds conference on problems of interethnic and interfaith concord within Kazakhstan's presidency in OSCE

HAGUE. November 25. KAZINFORM /Dimash Syzdykov/ A conference entitled "Ethno-religious pluralism and problems of integration" has been held in Hague under the auspices of Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the OSCE. It was organized by the Kazakh Embassy in the Netherlands jointly with the Netherlands School for Public Administration.

Opening the conference, Kazakh Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Netherlands Mainura Murzamadiyeva noted that the event was organized within the framework of preparation for the OSCE Summit, which will be held in Astana on December 1-2. "We invited prominent politicians from Kazakhstan - Senators A.Bizhanov and Y.Mukayev, OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Knut Vollebaek, Director of Department for South East and Eastern Europe in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands Caspar Veldkamp as well as scientists, international experts and representatives of diplomatic circles", she said.

According to Chairman of Senate Committee for Socio-Cultural Development Akhan Bizhanov, holding of such conference in the period of the Kazakh presidency in the OCE will make its own contribution to raising authority of our country and development of ideas of interethnic and interfaith concord in our country and in the world.

Director of Department for South East and Eastern Europe in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands Caspar Veldkamp noted that today Europe actively discusses the issue regarding interethnic relations. "At the same time, it would be useful to look outside Europe, for example, study the experience of Kazakhstan. We would like to learn from each other, and this conference gives such opportunity", he said.
