Head coach of Kazakhstan's rhythmic gymnastics team Aliya Yussupova resigns

Aliya Yussupova, one of the most iconic figures of Kazakhstan’s rhythmic gymnastics, announced her resignation as a head coach of the national team. She has led the national team since 2012, having managed to bring Kazakhstani rhythmic gymnastics to a new level.
Under her supervision, Kazakhstani gymnasts successfully competed in the international arena, winning medals at Asian Championships, Asian Games, and world tournaments. Three Kazakh athletes qualified for the Olympic Games - Sabina Ashirbaeva in 2016, Alina Adilkhanova in 2020, and Elzhana Tanieva in 2024.
According to Aliya Yussupova, she wants to concentrate on her work in the Kazakhstan Gymnastics Federation.
Aliya Yussupova is an Honored Master of Sports and Honored Coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan. She participated in the Olympic Games twice. In 2004, in Athens, she finished fourth, and in 2008, in Beijing, she ranked 5th.
For her achievements, Aliya Yussupova was awarded the medals “Eren Enbegi Ushin” and “World-Class Gymnast”, as well as “Qurmet” and “Parasat” orders.
Earlier, Kazinform reported that Aliya Yussupova had been re-elected as head of the Kazakhstan Gymnastics Federation for a new four-year term.
