He expressed gratitude to Kazakhstan for the help lent during the mass deportation from the territory of the Chehchen-Ingush ASSR, started on February 23, 1944.

"Thousands of ordinary people of Kazakhstan helped our nation survive in those inhuman conditions. They shared our pain, shelter and food, treated the sick, and buried the dead. On behalf of the people of the Republic of Ingushetia and my own behalf I express sincere appreciation to the people of Kazakhstan for assistance rendered during those severe years to the people deprived of their motherland," the letter reads. President Yevkurov noted that Kazakhstan became the home to the Ingush people, many of them are still staying there as full-fledged citizens. He highlighted that all of this became possible thanks to the policy of Nursultan Nazarbayev wishing the Kazakh Leader and the nation well-being and prosperity.
