Head of State briefed on TikTok’s operations and Kazakhstan’s AI developments
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the International AI Center AlemAI, the country is establishing to become an AI-orientated state, so as to promote information technologies in all spheres of public and economic lives,
The Head of State was presented with the concept of the International AI Center AlemAI to be hosted in the Nur Alem sphere.
According to Zhasslan Madiyev, Kazakh digital development, innovation and aerospace industry minister, Tomorrow School and Tumo Education are set to be opened in the Center with the aim to train 1,000 highly qualified specialists per year. The International AI Center AlemAI will also act as a campus for startup acceleration and promotion of research projects in the sphere.
The President was also presented with the promising home-grown startup projects and companies, participating in incubation and acceleration programs. Among such companies is Cybernetai, which specializes in developing and implementing voice robots for internation with clients. Another company ArlanBiotech seeks to contribute to finding solutions to difficult challenges facing the field of immunotherapy and diagnosis. Higgsfield AI startup holds promise thanks to its advanced system helping scholars and engineers to explore sophisticated computer models.
The Head of State was briefed about the operations of TikTok and Netracker in Kazakhstan as well.
Thanks to tax preferences, visa support and other favorable conditions Kazakhstan has to offer foreign companies and IT specialists are joining Astana Hub. Talks are ongoing to locate offices of Telegram, TON, Tether, Google, EPAM and other representatives of global IT industry to promote research projects and new developments.
President Tokayev was also presented with the domestic developments in AI, including the digital twin of mines, drone piloting and a robotic pet for production tasks.
The Head of State was also briefed about the potential of the AITU ecosystem, the projects of Nazarbayev University’s Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence – the first Kazakh language model KazLLM and a multifunctional app Soyle App.
