Head of State chairs session of Security Council
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev chaired a session of the Security Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan focusing on the strategic risks of unlocking Kazakhstan’s transport and logistics potential, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Heads of government agencies and national companies reported on the work done to tackle systemic problems in a number of areas, including railway, motorway, maritime and air shipping as well as pipeline transport.
The Head of State pointed out the paramount importance of developing transit traffic, including through the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor, expanding transport capacities for domestic goods export.
Utmost attention was paid to synchronizing the development of industrial sector, export and transit potential, introduction of modern standards of infrastructure construction and other topics.
Following results of the meeting, the President gave a number of specific tasks to the Government.
