Head of State received EurAsEC Secretary General

sp;ASTANA. November 23. KAZINFORM Kazakh Head of the State Nursultan Nazarbayev has received Secretary General of the Eurasian Economic Community Tair Mansurov today in Almaty.

T.Mansurov informed the President on the preparatory work to the coming summit of the Organization in Minsk and the work on formation of the Customs Union.

T.Mansurov noted that the Head of the State set several tasks before the leadership of the EurAsEC. In particular, the President urged to accelerate the process of establishment of the single economic space and work over all organizational issues of the Customs union.

As earlier reported, the single customs regime will function on the territory of three states beginning from January, 2010.

"November 27 is the day when Kazakhstan starts chairing the EurAsEC. The Author of integration ides - President of Kazakhstan - proposed the idea of establishment of the EurAsEc in March, 1994, and it was established in 2000. And 9 years later we see the beginning of functioning of pragmatic integration breakthrough - the Customs Union", T.Mansurov said at the briefing.
