Head of State receives Defense Minister

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Minister of Defense Ruslan Zhaksylykov, Kazinform News Agency cites the Akorda press service.

During the meeting, the President- the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan heard the minister’s report on the results of its activity in 2023, new approaches to combat training of the troops, and state of training and firing range base.

Utmost attention was paid to the implementation of state defense order, arrival of new samples of aviation equipment, including unmanned aircraft complexes, state-of the-art armored equipment, communications tools, and more.

Additionally, the Head of State was informed of the work done by the ministry on conscription into the armed forces and the measures to enhance the status of militarymen and increasing the military pay.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the need to increase the potential of Kazakhstan’s military peacekeeping contingent to participate in the missions under the aegis of UN.

In conclusion, the President set a number of specific tasks before the defense ministry, including interaction with the domestic defense enterprises.
