Head of State briefed on crime situation in the country
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Minister of Internal Affairs Yerzhan Sadenov, Kazinform News Agency cites Akorda.
Head of State Tokayev was briefed on the crime situation in the country. According to Minister Sadenov, there has been a reduction in offences by 7,000, including criminal offences by 4,000, in the country since the beginning of the year.
The number of offences committed in public places and by minors has been on decline as well. Besides, detection of all categories of offences has improved.
President Tokayev was informed about the implementation of his instructions regarding combat against organized, cyber- and drug-related crimes as well as ensuring road safety and developing human resources.
Sadenov reported on the implementation of the concept 'Law and Order', measures to create a zero-tolerance culture for offences and their prevention.
Over the reporting period, 45% more administrative offences have been prevented, including 30% more cases of vandalism and 47% more traffic violations, as a result of which two times more persons have been deprived of their driving licenses.
The Head of State was also briefed on the treatment of imprisoned persons in the penitentiary institutions.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave a number of instructions to further improve law and order as well as public safety in the country.
