Head of State Tokayev receives Social Health Insurance Fund Chairman

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Chairman of the Board of the Social Health Insurance Fund Abylkair Skakov, Kazinform News Agency cites Akorda. 

Skakov briefed the Head of State about the results of the work of the social health insurance system since the beginning of 2023 and since its implementation.

According to Skakov, the healthcare financing has risen 2.5 times and health costs per person doubled since the introduction of social insurance.

The Social Health Insurance Fund Board Chairman spoke of improving access of citizens to health care, provided information about the realization of the President’s tasks on increasing the efficiency of the mandatory social health insurance system.

In particular, the realization of a set of measures aimed at expanding the social health insurance coverage, ensuing financial stability of the Fund, and accelerated digitalization of all processes related to mandatory social health insurance.

Tokayev set a number of tasks before Skakov, aiming at increasing the efficiency of the social health insurance system.
