Head of State visits Khoja Ahmed Yasawi Mausoleum in Turkistan
During his working visit, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi in the Turkistan region, Kazinform News Agency has learnt from the Akorda press service.
The Kazakh leader paid tribute to the memory of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, the celebrated poet, philosopher and spiritual teacher, a figure of immense significance within the Turkic world, as well as other renowned historical figures interred in the mausoleum.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed about the comprehensive research carried out in the mausoleum, which is inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
It should be noted that Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov signed a decree to place the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi under state protection.
Earlier it was reported that Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev had arrived in the Turkistan region for a working visit.
