Heads of Foreign Ministries of Kazakhstan and Israel hold phone talk

 Kazakh deputy prime minister – foreign minister Murat Nurtleu held a phone talk with his Israeli counterpart Eli Cohen, Kazinform News Agency reports. 

The talks highlighted the progressive nature of bilateral relations in trade and economic, investment, and cultural and humanitarian areas.

The Israeli minister informed about the current situation in the Middle East amid the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Expressing concern over the escalation of the conflict and developments in the combat zones, Kazakh foreign minister Nurtleu voiced Kazakhstan’s position regarding the ongoing conflict.

The Kazakh minister urged the sides of the conflict to find ways towards peace and stability in the Middle East, taking into account the issue’s global importance for the entire international community.

The Kazakhstani diplomat mentioned Kazakh President Tokayev’s statement announced at the CIS Summit, which stresses that the escalation of the situation could lead to serious implications not only in the Middle East but in the entire world. Therefore, Kazakhstan is firmly committed to the settlement of Israel-Palestine conflict by peaceful talks and diplomatic dialogue.

Nurtleu called upon his Israeli colleague to assist in evacuating Kazakhstani citizens from the Gaza Strip, which is top priority of the country. He also briefed his counterpart Eli Cohen on the ongoing work to return the Kazakhstanis home as soon as possible.

For his part, the Israeli foreign minister thanked his colleague for the provided information and confirmed that the Israeli side will space no effort in Kazakhstani nationals’ evacuation, saying that he will personally control it.
