Heads of two oil companies fined $3 million

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kyzylorda court sentenced leaders of two major oil companies to 5 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property, according to the website 24.kz.

The criminals performed illegal acquisition and transportation of crude oil which had been shipped to refineries in the city of Atyrau and in Zhambyl region. In total, 112 tank wagons of "black gold" were exported in the amount of more than 8000 tons. Damage caused the state exceeded KZT 565 million (about USD 3 million). Maxim Finansov, head of Department for Economic and Corruption-Related Crimes of Kyzylorda region, noted that the criminals were found guilty and sentenced to five years imprisonment with confiscation of property. Furthermore, the court's verdict enforced the convicts to hit the country the cost of crude oil, purchased and sold illegally, equaled to KZT 565 million.
