Hobbit Frodo promotes labor unions in Russia's Far East
MOSCOW. March 11. KAZINFORM A student in Russia's Far East has won a labor union advertising competition with a cartoon starring characters from Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy, the film version of the J.R. Tolkien classic; Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.
The winning video, made by a medicine student in Vladivostok, uses Frodo and co. to reveal the mechanics behind labor union work in Primorye.
"In the video, Frodo and Gandalf kick-start a labor union movement to get the better of Saruman, an evil employer who threatens to cut everybody's pay," a spokeswoman for the region's labor union federation told RIA Novosti.
She said all and sundry subsequently join Frodo's labor union, with union cards handed out by elves.
The video will be used to promote the labor union movement in the region, she said.
