Honduras reports 212 deaths during New Year celebrations
TEGUCIGALPA. January 5. KAZINFORM At least 212 people died of violence during the New Year celebrations, Honduran police spokesman Orlin Cerrato said Monday during a press conference; Kazinform refers to China Daily.

The figure was based on a survey of violence from December 16 to 31, Cerrato said, adding that it included 86 deaths by Christmas and 126 between that holiday and New Year's day.
Cerrato said the police had enhanced security efforts in the past year, and over 2,000 raids had been carried out across the country; Kazinform cites China Daily.
