Hospital of Kazakh Presidential Administration’s Medical Center, China’s BGI Genomics sign memo
As part of the working visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan to China, a memorandum of cooperation and partnership between the hospital of the Medical Center of the Administration of the Kazakh President, Astana Medical University, and China’s BGI Genomics was signed, Kazinform Agency reports.
Director of the hospital of the Medical Center of the Kazakh Presidential Administration Rustam Albayev, Chairman of the Astana Medical University Kamalzhan Nadyrov took part in the ceremony of signing.
The agreement reached provides for the establishment of an Institute of Genomic Studies at the hospital of the Medical Center of the Administration of the Kazakh President and Astana Medical University in Kazakhstan. The Institute’s activity is to focus on the development, implementation and improvement of genomic technologies in diagnosing and treating a wide range of socially significant diseases as well as training Kazakhstani genetic professionals.
Earlier it was reported that Kazakhstan and China sought to bring the mutual trade to 40 billion US dollars.
