Housing construction in full swing in N Kazakhstan, says governor

24 apartment complexes are to be commissioned in North Kazakhstan region in the near future, governor Gauez Nurmukhambetov announced Monday at a press briefing at the Central Communications Service, Kazinform News Agency reports.

At the press briefing, governor Nurmukhambetov revealed some 300,000 square meters of housing are to be put into service this year.

According to him, several promising microdistricts are being developed in Petropavlovsk. Construction works are underway in Zhas Orken, Bereke, Kopai and Ortalyq microdistrics.

On top of that, 24 apartment complexes will be commissioned in the region this year. Of 24, 22 are in Petropavlovsk alone. That means that over 5,000 people will be able to move into new apartments, the governor added.

A total of 1 million square meters of housing are to be put into service in the region in upcoming three years.
