Hungary to welcome Uzbek Cinema Week

The First Deputy Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Avazkhon Tajikhanov held online talks with Hungarian Government Commissioner for the Film Industry Csaba Káel, UzA reports.

The meeting was also attended by the Director of the Cinematography Agency of Uzbekistan Shukhrat Rizayev and the Chief Executive Officer at the National Film Institute of Hungary Ákos Pál.

The parties discussed prospects for deepening cooperation in cinematography, expanding cultural and creative ties between the two countries, and preparing an intergovernmental agreement on joint filming.

Particular attention was paid to the project of creating a historical film dedicated to the Uzbekistan and Hungarian travelers Mullah Sodiq and Ármin Vámbéry.

Following the talks, agreements were reached on holding Uzbek Cinema Week in Hungary in 2025 and implementing joint film projects. The parties expressed mutual interest in continuing work to develop cooperation in this area.

Earlier it was reported that Uzbekistan is launching new international bus routes to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
