I am optimistic on Turkistan region's future - President
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited an exhibition of local agricultural producers organized at the SPK TURKISTAN industrial park, Kazinform News Agency learned from the Akorda press service.
The exhibition showcased a wide range of meat, dairy, fish products, confectionery, as well as fruits and vegetables.
The Head of State was informed about the main areas of the region’s agro-industrial complex development. In particular, local authorities plan to focus on increasing the yield of agricultural crops, introducing water-saving technologies, expanding greenhouses and implementing investment projects.
By 2030, the region plans to introduce water-saving technologies on 40% of irrigated land and commission new greenhouse complexes with an area of 602 hectares. 105 investment projects are set to be implemented here in the nearest three years, with more than 8,000 jobs created.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met local entrepreneurs to discuss the prospects for raising agricultural sector’s efficiency.
“In general, the situation in the region is positive. The governor copes with his tasks, he is not afraid of his work. Therefore, I am optimistic about the future of the region. I wish everyone success,” the President said.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also noted the importance of introducing water-saving technologies.
