I hope Astana Summit to mark new historic stage in building of community of truly comprehensive and indivisible security: K.Zhigalov

ASTANA. November 28. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ "I hope the Astana Summit will mark a new historic stage in the building of a community of truly comprehensive and indivisible security in the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian spaces", Special Envoy of the OSCE Chairman-in-office, Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Konstantin Zhigalov said at the OSCE Review Conference in Astana on Sunday.

He noted that a number of valuable suggestions and recommendations on improving working methods and accountability of the Organization to its member states were submitted during the Review Conference. In particular, a range of proposals aimed at strengthening of the Organization as a forum for political dialogue through modernization of joint decision-making processes of the Permanent Council and improvement of the approaches in order to guarantee the openness of the OSCE sessions for the civil society was made. Many states suggested strengthening the legal framework of the Organization through adoption of the Convention on international legal personality, legal capacity and privileges and immunities and adoption of the Charter or regulations of the Organization.
