ICAO President Salvatore Sciacchitano to visit Kazakhstan in July 2025

First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar met with Nicolas Rallo, Regional Director for the ICAO “European and North Atlantic” (EUR/NAT) Office, Kazinform News Agency cites the press service of the Kazakh Civil Aviation Committee.

During the meeting, held as part of the ICAO Week in Kazakhstan, the country’s cooperation with ICAO in flight safety, aviation safety and sustainable development of civil aviation was discussed as well as the upcoming official visit of ICAO President Salvatore Sciacchitano to Kazakhstan in July 2025 was announced.

The ICAO is a United Nations agency and has 193 member countries committed to “sharing their skies to mutual benefit.”

To note, in April this year, the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan signed an agreement with the US Federal Aviation Administration to conduct an International Aviation Safety Assessment (IASA) to evaluate Kazakhstan’s compliance with the ICAO international standard, as the country seeks to launch direct flights to the US by 2025.
