Presidents of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan – Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Ilham Aliyev – took part in the inauguration of the Children’s Center for Creative Development named after Kurmangazy in Fuzuli, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the press service of Akorda.

The modern and innovative center was built on the initiative of the Kazakh President as a humanitarian gift for the fraternal nation of Azerbaijan from the people of Kazakhstan.

“This is our gift on behalf of the people of Kazakhstan. On my personal instruction, it is presented by BI Group private company, and this is a heartfelt gift from all the people of Kazakhstan. I believe this center will contribute to the strengthening of the bilateral relations between our countries. I wish you success and prosperity. There is no doubt that this sacred region of Azerbaijan will gain a strong impetus,” said the President of Kazakhstan at a meeting with the residents of Fuzuli.

Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the people of Kazakhstan for the present. He reminded that it was Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s personal initiative to create a children’s creativity center on the liberated lands.

“The center was named after Kurmangazy, a great son of the Kazakh nation. As we agreed yesterday, it will also become the Center of Friendship and Fraternity of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. We are sincerely grateful for this initiative, which will always remain in the memory of Azerbaijani people,” Ilham Aliyev said.

Naming the new educational facility in honor of Kurmangazy was not accidental, as the legendary works of this outstanding Kazakh instrumentalist turned into the heritage of the entire Turkic world.

“Indeed, Kurmangazy is a giant of the Kazakh music, one can say that he is an inextricable part of the Turkic culture. One cannot imagine Kazakh music without Kurmangazy. His music is very dynamic and modern. His famous kui Saryarka is still popular and is listened to with a great excitement,” said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The two leaders surveyed new classrooms, halls and creativity studios of the center.

The ground-breaking ceremony took place last March, with construction works completed within nine months. The two-storey building is located in the territory of 1.5 hectares. The area of the center is 2.700 square meters.

There is a lecture hall, a chess classroom, a culinary art classroom, a studio of art and sculpture, a choreography hall and a gym, a recording room, a music and vocal art classroom, photo and video editing rooms, web design and robotics classrooms, an assembly hall, and a 3D modeling classroom in the center. IT-startups and national culture of Azerbaijan, including carpet weaving will be in focus of the center’s educational program.
