Illicit trafficking of oil a source of financing radical religious movements - Financial Police of Kazakhstan
ASTANA. June 26. KAZINFORM - Trafficking of crude oil and petroleum products is a source of funding for radical religious movements.
This has been stated by Chief of the Department of the Economic and Financial Crime of Agency for Combating Economic and Corruption Crimes Zhanat Elimanov during the public session on anti-corruption and the shadow economy issues.
"Illicit traffic in oil affects the size of the shadow economy and is a source of funding for the activities of organized criminal groups, including radical religious movements" said J. Elimanov
As stated by him, the approximate amount of shadow turnover of oil varies between 200-300 thousand tons per year.
