In 2015 Kazakhstan to up grain deliveries to Iran fivefold
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - This year Kazakhstan is likely to increase its grain deliveries to Iran fivefold, President Nursultan Nazarbayev said while addressing the 8th Astana Economic Forum on Friday.
The Head of State noted that the increase in grain deliveries will become a reality with the launch of the Uzen-Bereket-Gorgan railway line. "The railway line [a part of the new North-South railway corridor] will give us access to the Middle East. And that means that this year Kazakhstan may increase its grain deliveries to Iran fivefold," President Nazarbayev said. The President of Kazakhstan also added that volume of cargo transportation via railroad is expected to reach 10 million tons in the nearest future.
