In Kazakhstan legal migrant workers enjoy all rights and freedoms granted to country's citizens
ASTANA. November 27. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ In Kazakhstan legal migrant workers enjoy all rights and freedoms granted to the country's citizens. Secretary of the Commission on Human Rights under the President of Kazakhstan Tastemir Abishev has made it public at the OSCE Review Conference held in the Palace of Peace and Concord.
"In accordance with a recommendation of the Kazakh National Actions Plan, the Convention of the CIS states on protection of rights of migrant workers and members of their families was ratified in 2009. this Convention provides legal labor migrants to enjoy all rights and freedoms granted to the Kazakh citizens", T.Abishev said.
He noted that according to the Convention all children of labor migrants enjoy right on obtaining free primary and secondary education in the state schools. With the support of the Commission there were launched the Labor Migration Management Program as well as the regional Program on protection of labor migrants' rights in South Kazakhstan region.
