In world crisis ECO?s big economic potential has special significance - Massimov

TEHRAN. March 11. KAZINFORM /Yernur Akanbai/ In the world crisis a big economic potential of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) has a special significance. Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov announced at the 10th Summit of the ECO in Tehran; Kazinform reports.

?This summit and all issues on its agenda are very topical. The world crisis passed the limits of the financial system and affected the social-economic development. Today none of authoritative international organizations can offer specific mechanisms and methods to overcome the crisis. The crisis overwhelmed countries and continents, thus the ECO?s big economic potential has a special significance?, K.Massimov said. Touching upon Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev?s proposal on creation of a single world currency, K.Massimov noted that this measure can be a good bachground for overcoming the crisis. ?The Organization sets a task to itself ? to find ways of overcoming the crisis, the ECO should use its powerful economic potential, because the Organization has a big consumer market?, K.Massimov said.
