B.Basu noted that India was a victim of terrorism for several decades. ?Recent attacks of terrorists on November 16-18, 2008 in Mumbai show essential growth in terrorist activity and good training of terrorists?, he said. According to the expert, there exist double standards and lack of political will to struggle against this evil in the international community. Current international mechanisms on struggle against terrorism are not effective. ?Information exchange, mutually beneficial assistance, mechanisms of coordination between countries should be strengthened that different state bodies can truly cooperate", he noted. According to B.Basu, today India and Kazakhstan have mutually beneficial interests in struggle against world terrorism. ?We have already established a range of bilateral mechanisms that provide efforts for combating terrorism. India is an observer in the SCO structure and we hope that we can play significant role in the organization that will correspond to our economic and international status?, he noted. ?Kazakhstan has clear view on the initiatives on provision of common security. India and Kazakhstan confirm growing role and effectiveness of the CICA and the SCO. Both countries contribute to provision of the regional stability?, B.Basu noted.
