India to become member of Shanghai Cooperation Organization soon - Lavrov

MOSCOW. November 17. KAZINFORM India is to become a full-fledged member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in the immediate future, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Thursday after talks with Indian Minister of External Affairs Somanahalli Mallaiah Krishna.

According to Itar-Tass, "India will become a full-fledged member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in the immediate future," he said. "It has long been talked about. The only thing to do is to commit to paper the change of its status from an observer to a full-fledged member. It will be done very soon."
