India to launch 2 rockets with Russian, Singaporean technologies
NEW DELHI. November 3. KAZINFORM India is to launch two rockets next month with Russian and Singaporean technologies on board in a bid to bolster its space-based communication and remote sensing services, highly placed sources said Wednesday; Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
"The two rockets are Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle ( GSLV), which will strengthen its space-based communication, and another is the PSLV-C16, with six strap-on boosters, which will carry advanced remote sensing satellite Resourcesat-2, auxiliary spacecraft of Youthsat and X-sat," the sources said.
Youthsat, a micro satellite carrying scientific payloads, is a participatory scientific mission with a payload from Russia and two from India. X-sat is Singapore's first indigenous satellite, designed by Nanyang Technological University; Kazinform cites Xinhua.
