Indonesia's A/H1N1 flu cases exceed 900
JAKARTA. August 18. KAZINFORM Indonesia has confirmed 36 people newly infected by A/H1N1 influenza virus, putting the total number of the people infected by this disease to 908, Health Ministry said here on Tuesday, Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
Director General of Disease Control and Environmental Health of the ministry Dr. Tjandra Yoga Aditama said that the newly infected persons were from 24 provinces in the country.
The health ministry has ordered to impose a hygienic life as an effort to prevent the spread of the disease in the country.
As Indonesia had been hit, the hardest by H5N1 virus, expert fears that the avian influenza sub type A/H1N1 virus could conduct a multiple combine with the H5N1 virus, that could create a new type of virus with the speed of spread similar to the A/H1N1 flu and the severity of attack equal to the H5N1 virus, which has killed more than 100 people in recent years in Indonesia, Kazinform cites Xinhua.
