Int'l boxing tournament dedicated to 20th anniversary of independence of Kazakhstan began in Uralsk
ALMATY. March 30. KAZINFORM One hundred and ten boxers from Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia take part in the international boxing tournament opened today in Uralsk city for the prizes of honorary president of Kazakhstan's Boxing Federation Askar Kulibayev. The tournament is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of independence of Kazakhstan.
Deputy Chairman of the Sports Committee of the Ministry of Tourism and Sport of Kazakhstan Abil Donbay noted that such a tournament was held for the first time in Kazakhstan. Its goal is further development and promotion of boxing in Kazakhstan and strengthening of sports contacts.
The tournament will last till April 2 and have 10 weight categories.
