Int'l conference on use of CA trans-border rivers' resources held in Taraz

MBYL REGION. November 10. KAZINFORM. /Galina Skripnik/ An international scientific-practical conference on "Modern aspects of use of natural-resources potential of Central Asian trans-border rivers" has been opened in Taraz today.

Representatives of the OSCE Center in Kazakhstan, scientists from China, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Taraz Research Institute of Water Economy and others take part in the event.

The issues of interstate rational use and protection of resources of trans-border rivers will be discussed at the meeting. The participants will visit the Kirov Water Reservoir on the Talas River, Zhambyl region.

The participants are to adopt recommendations on interaction of natural and economy systems, monitoring of natural-resources potential on the trans-border territories, improvement of use and protection of water resources of the Balkhash Lake basin, development of the trans-border territories.

The conference is organized by the Water Resources Committee of Kazakh Agriculture Ministry, Akimat of Zhambyl region, KazAgroInnovation JSC and Taraz State University.
