Interaction within the SCO is a priority for all the SCO member states

ASTANA. April 12. KAZINFORM  Kazakh Security Council Secretary Marat Tazhin attended the 7th Meeting of the  Security Councils'  Secretaries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Beijing.

During the meeting the sides exchanged views on the security situation in the SCO,  deepening  cooperation in combating terrorism, separatism and extremism, fight against drug trafficking and other transnational crimes.

The same day, leaders of delegations met with the ​​Chinese Vice-President Xi Jinping. He asked about the outcome of the last meeting, and noted that the regular events in this format help promote the basic purposes and objectives of the SCO, aimed at ensuring peace and security in the region.

M. Tazhin stressed the priority of cooperation within the SCO framework for all member States and thanked China for its high level of the organization of the  7th Meeting of SCO Security Councils' Secretaries .

Day earlier Tazhin held a meeting with a member of the State Council -Chinese Minister of the  Public Security Meng Jianzhu. They discussed issues of mutual interest.
